In those days, this small place was known as Rai-Bhoi-Di-Talwandi, named after Rai Bhoi. His great-grandson, Rai Bular Bhatti, renamed it Nankana Sahib after witnessing miracles performed by Nanak and recognizing his extraordinary nature. Rai Bular Bhatti donated half of his property, 750 Murabba lands (equivalent to 18,750 hectares), to Guru Nanak. This land still belongs to the Gurdwara and serves as a major source of spreading the message of love and peace worldwide.
